This will be the first tome Hacken and Cork City have met,56% of Hacken's last 18 home matches have seen them win by more than a single goal.

Central midfielder Rasmus Schuller is out with a torn knee ligament.

Defensive trio John Kavanagh, John Dunleavy, and Kenny Browne are all out injured along with midfielder Greg Bolger.

Hacken, after winning the Swedish Cup last season, find themselves back in the Europa League after an absence of three seasons. Their last match was a 3rd round qualifier against Thun back in 2013/14, which they lost 3-1 after beating Sparta Prague in the 2nd qualifying round.

However, their domestic season didn’t go quite to plan last year as they struggled to an 8th place finish in the Swedish Allsvenskan, only qualifying for Europa due to their Swedish Cup victory. This season isn’t going much better at the moment either, with their spells of poor form earlier in the campaign leaving them in 7th place after 13 matches.

They do come into this match unbeaten in six matches though, and with four wins under their belts during this time they will feel confident on Thursday. They have won four of their last five at home as well, only losing to AIK.

Cork City’s form has dipped a bit over the past few weeks. They only managed a 2-1 aggregate win over Linfield in the Europa League 1st qualifying round, and overall they have only won two of their last five. Their sole defeat during this period came in a club friendly against Fulham, making it one defeat in their last 11 matches.

They have made it further than they managed last season with that win over Linfield though. They were eliminated by Icelandic side KR last year after a 3-2 defeat in extra time, and prior to that their last appearance in Europe was in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup. Unsurprisingly, Cork City have never made it to the group stages of either of Europe’s top competitions.

Hacken are in good form at the moment and are generally seen as a bigger side than Cork City. Their superior quality and home advantage should allow them to begin building a lead on Thursday, and my prediction is for a Hacken -1.0 Asian Handicap Win at 1.800. I’m also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction at 6/1.
