Fulham kicked off this season in very impressive form as they won five and drew two of their opening seven games in all competitions. This included a League Cup dispatch of Middlesbrough after extra time and an excellent 1-0 win at home to Championship favourites Newcastle on the opening day of the season.

However, the Craven Cottage outfit have declined in the last few weeks, with their unbeaten start to the season ending at the hands of Birmingham City and them following this with two draws against Burton Albion and Wigan.

To be honest, at least two of these three games were more than winnable and they will be very disappointing to come away having dropped seven points. They are still in a promising 9th place in the Championship though, so if they turn it around quickly then can still have a good season. For now though, their attention must turn towards the League Cup.

Bristol City have had a relatively good start to the season considering the quality of the opposition that they have had to face. They have played all three relegated teams so far this season, losing to Norwich and Newcastle but managing a win at home to Aston Villa.

Apart from those two expected defeats they have only lost once, but that came just last week as Sheffield Wednesday beat them 3-2. This was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to the goalshy Derby County on Saturday to make it three games without a win for the visitors. They do have a secret weapon in 18 year old Tammy Abraham though, with the teenager already have seven goals in all competitions this season.

This tie on Wednesday could prove to be the turning point for both teams in their run of winless games. One team will emerge victorious and that could kick them on to better things in the league, whilst another will see their winless run stretch to four games.

Fulham have been struggling in front of goal a bit recently, but they have still found the net in eight of their ten games this season and are facing a side with just one clean sheet this term. Bristol City tend to focus on an attack minded approach more than defensive solidity, with them also finding the net in eight of their ten outings this season.

The fact that both of these sides have netted in eight of their ten games this season makes odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score a good value backing, and I’m going for that along with a 2-1 win for the visitors at 10/1 for my correct score prediction.

Head To Head
Fulham have won three and lost one of their four meetings with Bristol City.

Both Fulham and Bristol City have scored in 80% of their matches this season.

Team News

Floyd Ayite and Sone Aluko are expected to miss out again for Fulham, as is right back Ryan Fredericks.

Centre back Joel Ekstrand is expected to miss out on Wednesday.
