Manchester United is now in a really fine form, as the team has nine consecutive victories in all official competitions, coming from a 2:0 victory away from home against West Ham in the most recent Premier League played on second January. They were controlling the game from the first minute, but the team’s job was easier since the players of West Ham have played with a man less since 15th minute when Feghouli got red carded.

Visitors increased the tempo in the second halftime and somehow easily reached the three pointer thanks to goals from Mata and Ibrahimovic in 63rd and 78th minute. United is now at sixth position, but having only six points less than second placed Tottenham and need to continue playing in the same way and waiting for rival’s mistakes. Apart from that, they also come from convincing victories over Reading and Hull City in Cup competitions.

Home team should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Ibrahimovic as central striker, plus Young, Pogba and Mkhitaryan as offensive midfielders. Central defender Eric Bailly (15/0) is away with international duty with African Cup of Nations, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic had some probelms but should be ready to play here from the first minute. Michael Carrick was rested during the midweek and should be recalled here.

Liverpool, on the other side, comes from a point taken away to Sunderland in a 2:2 game played two weeks ago. It must be said that the players of Liverpool were actually much better and did deserve the three pointer here, however paid the price of committing fouls which allowed the players of Sunderland to score two easy goals from Defoe.

Sturidge and Mane were bringing Pool into the lead twice, but the visitors didn’t manage to secure the victory, conceding the second goal six minutes before the end of the game and had no time to respond further on. The Reds are now fourth at the table and are just a point below second placed Tottenham, also being close to a must win situation.

Visitors should be lined up in 4-3-3 formation with Coutinho, Origi and Firmino as forwards. Danny Ings and Mamadou Sakho continue to be long term absentees, while unfit also remain midfielders Jordan Henderson (19/1) and Marko Grujic (2/0) as well as central defender Joel Matip (12/1). Offensive midfielder/forward Sadio Mane (19/9) is out with African Cup of Nations.

Man Utd have won their last 6 matches (Premier League).
Man Utd are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 home matches against Liverpool.

Manchester United seems to be in a really nice form now, having won nine matches in a row in all competitions for the first time in last seven years, while Liverpool failed to score in successive matches now. Manchester United is the side that should be a bit more willing to risk and I expect them to continue their winning streak here, easy or hard.
