Angelholm only just avoided a relegation playoff in the Swedish Superettan last season, with them beating Mjalby by three points in the end. They don’t seem to have learned their lesson though, and at their current rate of progress they’re going to find themselves missing out on the relegation playoffs again and getting automatically relegated instead.
They come into this match rock bottom of the table after a shockingly bad run of form, with them holding on to just ten points from their first 14 league games and finding themselves two points adrift of the relegation playoff positions and four points off safety.
The majority of these points came early in the season as well. They won three of their opening four Superettan matches, but are currently on a ten match winless streak in which they have lost nine times. It doesn’t get any better for Angelholm at home either, where they won their first match but have since lost six on the bounce.
Degerfors aren’t having a massively successful season either, but at least they are safe for the moment. They occupy 12th position in the Superettan, but only a single point separates them from the relegation playoff spots below them.
They have managed to pick up some points recently though. They beat Trelleborg 2-1 a couple of weeks ago and drew at GAIS last week to make it one win, two draws, and two defeats from their last five matches.
Degerfors have struggled at times on the road, but only two of their last five away days have ended in defeat and they managed to beat league leaders Halmstad away from home recently. They will fancy their chances against an Angelholm side who look incapable of picking up any points at home at the moment, and my prediciton is for the visitors to take advantage of this.
Odds of 1.875 for a Degerfors 0.0 Asian Handicap look really good value as well, so that’s what I’m backing along with a correct score prediction of 1-0 due to the fact Angelholm haven’t even managed to find the net in five of their last six home games.
