It has been an eventful 10 days or so for Cruzeiro. They have finally found some form at least in an attacking sense cruising to a 4-0 win at Ponte Preta last week to get out of the drop-zone and they backed that up with an impressive 2-1 win at home to leaders Palmeiras. It looked like Cruzeiro were back and set to continue their progression up the league but they suffered a fresh setback in midweek as they sank to a late 3-2 defeat at Chapecoense. As a result they come into this match still down in 14th place and 2 points below their opponents, which clearly is highly disappointing for a side that won the title in both 2013 and 2014.

As for Vitoria they will be pretty happy with how the season has gone so far. The newly promoted side have a 4 point cushion on the drop-zone and a win would take them to 19 points, more or less half of what they are likely to need to stay in the division. They will fancy this game too given they’ve picked up 7 points from their last 3 matches. They picked up a shock 2-1 win away to high-flying Gremio in their most recent away game and were 3-2 victors at home to Sport Recife in midweek although did benefit from their opponents having 2 players sent off.

The fact they conceded a goal to 9 men will be a bit of a concern and the visitors have only kept one clean sheet all season so certainly you have to see Cruzeiro scoring at least once here and given they’ve scored 10 goals in their last 3 games, it may well be more than that. However Vitoria have a goal in them too particularly in the shape of Kieza who has 6 league goals already this term. Both teams have scored in all of their last 4 games and backing both teams to score at Evens looks very good here.

Head To Head
Cruzeiro have won all of the last 5 meetings between the clubs.

Both teams have scored in 75% of Vitoria's league games this term and 50% of Cruzeiro's.

Team News

Henrique was forced off early last time out and is a doubt here. Bruno Rodrigo is back from a ban.

Vagner Mancini has top scorer Kieza back after suspension. Either Dagoberto or Vander will drop out.
