Kalmar are improving slowly but surely this season. They ended last campaign just above the relegation playoff position in 13th having picked up just 31 points from their 30 games, but this season they are putting themselves in a good position to avoid the relegation battle completely.
They have managed 18 points from their 15 games so far, but that’s put them four points and four positions clear of the relegation playoff position up in 10th spot. They are also still recovering from a poor start to the season, so in all likelihood they will be fine come the end of the season in October.
Kalmar began the campaign with just one win from their first six matches, with three defeats further hindering their progress. Recently they have only lost one of their last seven outings in the Allsvenskan, winning twice and drawing four times in a steady improvement in performances.
Djurgarden are seeing no such improvement. They began the Allsvenskan campaign with three straight wins as they looked to potentially improve on their 6th place finish last season, but that quickly went down the drain. They have lost 12 of their 15 matches since then, with ten of these coming in the Allsvenskan.
This unsurprisingly has sent them plummeting down the table, and they come into this game in 13th position just a point clear of the relegation playoff position. Their form warrants this lowly position as well, and if it wasn’t for their early season success they would find themselves in deep trouble.
As it stands they still have a chance to get out of the mess they’re in, but they need to start winning matches soon. I can’t see their losing streak ending on the road though, as they have lost six matches on the bounce away from home and haven’t won since April.
Kalmar aren’t massively impressive at home, but their return of two wins, three draws, and a defeat in their last six home games hints at the potential to put together a good run of form. This is the sort of game that could get them going too, and considering the visitors away form of late I think odds of 6/5 for a Kalmar Win are very good value for money. That’s what I’m backing alongside a 3-1 correct score prediction at 16/1 due to all of Kalmar’s last three home victories seeing them score three goals.
Djurgarden have won four, drawn one, and lost two of their last seven meetings with Kalmar, but both of the previous two encounters have ended with a Kalmar victory.
Djurgarden have lost 75% of their away matches this season, including 100% of their last six.
Right midfielder Papa Diouf and left back Viktor Agardius are both out with seriously injured knee ligaments.
Knee injuries are keeping right midfielder Haris Radetinac and attacking midfielder Kerim Mrabti out of the team. Watch Live stream free Click Here | Link 2#
